ALTUS SPORT

For the past 27 years, Altus Sport has utilised sport as a tool for community change through a variety of programmes ranging from sport management, facilitator training, sport skill coaching and life skills mentoring.

Utilising the philosophy of Olympism – which blends sport, culture and education to create balanced body, will and mind –  Altus Sport aim to build a community of positive children and empowered girls by educating the youth through sport, and teach them important soft skills like the spirit of friendship, respect and fair play.

Their flagship programme, Life’s A Ball, focuses on well-rounded and holistic interventions through youth sports leadership, girl empowerment, sporting values, reading and writing, chess and entrepreneurship via sustainable market gardens.

Through this varied approach, Altus Sport’s 70 Youth Sports Leaders utilised various sporting codes and events to unlock the compassionate and positive energy among the 32 400 youths they reached in the Greater Tshwane area, Soweto and West Rand in 2021 alone!
